Upgraded to Snow Leopard and tested Windows 7

Blog No Comments

Today I’ve decided and I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Everything went very smooth and only my iWow plugin for iTunes needed an update. All my other applications are working flawless. Applications include: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, EyeTV, Aperture, Candybar and much more but those are the most important ones.

Not much changed really, it feels a little bit faster and there is more disk space. Of course there is also the new QuickTime which is pretty good, I think I won’t use VLC that much anymore. The rewritten finder is also really cool and very smooth.

In other news: I’ve used bootcamp 3 to install Windows 7 on a partition on my MacBook Pro. I have to say, the install was very quick and the news Windows 7 is a lot better than Vista. It’s very smooth and works great. Nevertheless, Mac OS is still a lot better.

The bottom looks a bit like the dock though and those “gadgets”, oh well. I don’t want to start this big discussion again. Windows 7 is a big improvement and can compete with XP. I can’t think of any application that won’t work on Mac though and Mac as Aperture, iLife and much more…

That’s it for now. Conclusion: upgrade to Snow Leopard, it’s worth it and no, it is NOT a service pack. And Windows 7 looks nice.
