A little bit more about the new jonasvdc.com design

It’s time for a little bit info about the jonasvdc.com design. It is finally finished after quite a few days of working on it. Today I had to clean up the CSS and finish the download manager, all done, so I can call this design finished.

It’s quite an interesting design if I may say so. The basic structure comes from the “Display” theme by Kriesi. The mainpage has a stunning javascript slideshow featuring my latest designs, a small intro text and three main boxes with info. There’s also a portfolio section where you can view my latest workpieces and photographs, when there is a download availabe you’ll find a small green download button beneath the image. You can also click the read more button for some more info about that particular work.

Of course there is also a blog included, I kept this real simple and clean, no need for tons of useless widgets. You are looking at it right now (=. Of course there is also an About page and a Contact page with a really nice javascript contact form, I think you will like it!

Chillze webdesign – the portal for your technology needs.

I’ve spend the whole day working on Chillze. The original idea of turning it into an arcade gaming site is vanished. Gregory and I decided to use the domain chillze.com to replce thechillblog.com. The main reason is because chillze is a lot more catchy than thechillblog. It is the same style as google and yahoo and is therefor unique.

It is also easier to promote and advertise since there already was a site called “chillblog.com”. So today I’ve finished to design for the blog, turned out quite nicely, never made a blue site before, I always tend to use greys or red or green. It’s clean and content-focused. A nice feature is the toolbar, don’t you think?

Sale of iJustApple, explained.

Hi everybody, I thought it would be a good idea to explain the sale of iJustApple. iJustApple was and is doing really good. I’ve started with a few months ago, started from scratch. Bought hosting, installed wordpress, made a nice theme for it and I started blogging. I made sure that I’ve posted something each and every day, even on sundays where most other Apple news sites fail.

The visits per day were somewhere around 1000-2000, which is pretty good for a new site!? Alexa rank is going up each week, almost 400.000, already page rank 3. So all the work and time that I’ve put in iJustApple was noticeable.

But I had (and still having) a lot of “real life” work in August and September so there was no other solution other then to put a message on iJustApple to say that I won’t be able to post anymore, since it is a “one man project” it’s inactive when I don’t do anything.

After two weeks of “inactivity” I decided to sell it. So I went to WebsiteBroker, I always use that site when I have a site or domain that I want to sell, always success. And a few days after I’ve placed my advertisement (for $10) I’ve got a message from Christopher Pieterse that he is very interested. I was very glad that I’ve found someone with a genuine interest in iJustApple. Everything went very fast, within 24 hours the site was his.

After all, I’m a little bit sad that I had iJustApple go, I’ve put days of work in it, but it’s better this way. I’m sure Christopher will do a great job and I support him 110%! So go to iJustApple.com and show your support! .
