Apple Wallpaper, retro color ribbons

It’s been a while since I’ve done something so here is a little something, a nice, clean, simple Apple retro style wallpaper. It has ribbons and the Apple logo in the retro colors, a nice font saying Apple, etc… There is a black & white version, and versions without ribbons in the upper right corner are also included. All available in a lot of sizes:

VideoLan Client (VLC) icon alternative

Although I don’t really use VLC a lot (QuickTime ftw!) I really like the icon, a traffic cone! So I tried to redraw it and I came up with this. Feel free to download and use it, please comment if you do! Free for personal use only!

MailBox icon, red and blue version

I was planning to change my mail icon for quite a while now, it’s been a simple envelope for ages. So this is a mailbox, inspired by the mailboxes from Iceland. The original mailbox is red but I’ve added a blue version because maybe some people might not like red. I’m using the red one at the moment, and I absolutely love it. If you experience any problems with it, please let me know so that I can fix them.

The icons are 300ppi (pixels per inch) and come as usual as ico, icon, icns, icontainer and png (512, 256, 128, 64, 32, 16). Mac, Windows, Linux compatible. They are free to use on your desktop, personal use only! Contact me for everything else.

The Simpsons Redrawn Wallpaper Pack finished!

I’ve recently posted that I was working on a “Simpsons project” but that I had to put it on the shelf for a while. Today I’ve finally finished it! It is a simple and very clean wallpaper with the five main characters, from left to right: Bart, Homer, Marge, Maggie and Lisa.

All the characters are based on existing drawings of them but I’ve 100% redrawn them in photoshop giving them a more modern look. I’ve spent hours of watching The Simpons when I was younger and this is my way to give shout-out to the Simpsons and their creators.

All the characters are originally created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. I am not related with them in any way. This is a clean, modern redrawn of the original characters. It comes in 9 default colors and 4 sizes (1920×1200, 1680×1050, 1440×900, 1280×800) but the .psd is included so you can change the background to the color you want and you can create new sizes if you want. My favorite is the lightblue one, enjoy! The gallery preview shows all the colors of the 1280×800 version.

WIP – The Simpsons wallpaper and maybe icons

A few weeks ago I started this project because I wanted to do something different. At first I was only going to make a Homer icon, but he looked so nice at 512x512px that I decided to make all the family members and turn it into a wallpaper.

After I’d finished Homer I started with Lisa but after her a client contacted me to do some icon designing so I had to put “the simpsons” project on the shelf, today I’ve took it off the shelf. I’m going to do Bart today and the other ones in the next few days/weeks. Stay tuned! I’ll update when I finish it.

Fender classic series 50s stratocaster icon (+bonus)

If you follow me on twitter you probably know that I bought a beautiful and amazing Fender classic series 50s stratocaster a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it, the maple neck is so smooth, low action, etc… (other guitar stuff).

A month ago I turned my Taylor 814CE acoustic guitar also into an icon to use as a GarageBand replacent, this time I turned my Fender in an icon! I bought the Fiësta Red version but it is also available in Surf Green and Daphne Blue, so I also included those in the icon pack. As a bonus I’ve also added a Fender standard stratocaster icon in black!

Included in the pack: ico, icon, icns, png (512, 256, 128, 32, 16) versions of all icons and seperate iContainers for use with CandyBar and the original 1000×1000 png file. Don’t forget to read the “Read Me!”. Hopefully you like this pack, it’s completely free for your own personal use only!

QuickTime alternative icons

So lately I’m using QuickTime more and more often than VLC (videolan), it’s been weeks/months since I used VLC for something. Why? Well, there are so many plugins, codecs, etc… (I’m not a pro when it comes to this) for QuickTime which will make it support almost every video/audio format. So blu-ray movies, mkv,… QuickTime does the job!

While I like the original QuickTime a lot I’d wanted to try something different, give it a twist, and this is the result. I’ll be honest, I’m not sure about it, I wasn’t even sure if I was going to release this one. Hopefully you like it, let me know. I made 8 different color variations (black, grey, blue, cyan, green, yellow or gold, red and purple), so I guess nobody can complain about that!

Sennheiser HD 205 iTunes replacement icon

So today I was thinking what icon I could make and I was looking around me and I saw my new headphones, the sennheiser HD205 – which are amazing by the way. Then I figured that my iTunes icon could use some change since it’s been the same icon for months now. Quite a few hours later, this is the result, a nice high quality (original size is 1124×1124) sennheiser HD205 iTunes replacement icon. A little bit more about the new jonasvdc.com design

It’s time for a little bit info about the jonasvdc.com design. It is finally finished after quite a few days of working on it. Today I had to clean up the CSS and finish the download manager, all done, so I can call this design finished.

It’s quite an interesting design if I may say so. The basic structure comes from the “Display” theme by Kriesi. The mainpage has a stunning javascript slideshow featuring my latest designs, a small intro text and three main boxes with info. There’s also a portfolio section where you can view my latest workpieces and photographs, when there is a download availabe you’ll find a small green download button beneath the image. You can also click the read more button for some more info about that particular work.

Of course there is also a blog included, I kept this real simple and clean, no need for tons of useless widgets. You are looking at it right now (=. Of course there is also an About page and a Contact page with a really nice javascript contact form, I think you will like it!

Taylor 814CE acoustic guitar icon

I have my Taylor 814CE a few months now and I absolutely love it! I frequently record some tunes using GarageBand (weekly) so I thought it would be a nice and original customisation to make the GarageBand icon my own guitar. So here it is, a Taylor 814CE acoustic guitar icon. Original size is 1769×1769, you can see a small part of it – neck and headstock – in the upper left corner. 100% Photoshop; yes, even the pearloid textures).

I hope you like this icon but before you download the whole set, you need to know what can and what can’t you do with the file.
